Varnish
Learn exactly what Varnish is. Discover a lot more about web accelerators and their role.
Varnish is a web app accelerator, which has been gaining a lot in popularity lately, as it can increase the loading speed of any Internet site, sometimes even by 100 percent, depending on the content itself. This tool is sometimes called an HTTP reverse proxy as well and is used to reduce the overall load on the server and to accelerate the browsing speed for the website visitors. Each time a visitor opens a page on a particular Internet site, the web browser request is handled by the web server and the requested info is served as a reply. If Varnish is activated, it caches the web pages that the site visitor browses and if any of them is accessed once again, it’s delivered by Varnish and not by the web server directly. The improvement in the overall performance comes from the fact that the accelerator handles the browser requests considerably faster than any web server, which leads to much faster browsing speeds for the website visitors. If any data is modified meanwhile, the cached pages will also be ‘refreshed’ the next time somebody tries to access them.

Varnish in Cloud Hosting
You can use Varnish’s potential and enhance your sites’ load speed regardless of the
cloud hosting package that you have selected and you can add and set up the platform with several clicks using the user-friendly GUI offered by our avant-garde Hepsia Control Panel. During the process, you will be able to choose two separate things – how many Internet sites will use the Varnish platform, in other words – the number of instances, and how much data will be cached, i.e. the amount of system memory. The latter comes in increments of 32 megabytes and is not linked to the number of instances, so you can add more instances with less memory and the other way around. In case you have lots of content on a specific Internet site and you draw many website visitors, more memory will guarantee you better results. You may also consider using a dedicated IP address for the websites that will use the Varnish platform. The Hepsia Control Panel will provide you with simple 1-click buttons for deleting or rebooting any instance, for clearing the cache for any site and for seeing elaborate logs.
